Town of Antrim – Board of Selectmen
Meeting Minutes
April 28, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman Genest in the Antrim Little Town Hall.

Members Present:        Mr. Webber, Mr. Genest, (Mr. Robertson excused)
Staff present:          Galen Stearns (Town Administrator)
        
  • Mr. Webber motioned to approve the BOS minutes of April 14, 2014, Mr. Robertson 2nd , Passed 2/0
  • Mr. Stearns informed the Board that the Road Agent, Chip Craig has achieved “Master Road Scholar” certification from the UNH Technology Transfer Center.  The board congratulated Mr. Craig.
  • Mr. Craig presented an update of the Highway Department’s summer activities:
  • Vacant position – both the Road Agent and the Administrator recommend that we try hiring a person as summer help to have their time split between road work and mowing duties and then for the winter season have an on-call person for plowing.  The board agreed to try this arraignment.
  • The new backhoe should be delivered this week.
  • The sidewalk tractor is on its way back from the manufacturer after being repaired.
  • RFP has ben issued for Highland & pleasant engineering work.
  • Next week will reclaim the rest of Elm Ave. and Smith Road.
  • Salt shed should start construction around the end of June.
  • Paving of the sidewalk from Post Road to Aiken St. will take place around the end or June or the beginning of July.
  • Mr. Stearns asked the board to list any concerns about renting the bandstand for a benefit concert.  Their concerns were:
  • Need a police detail
  • Porta-potties
  • Check with the Police Chief aboub parking on Jamison Ave.
  • Certificate of Insurance
  • Trash removal
  • Will there be food concessions?
  • Mr. Stearns reminded the board that the deadline for their LimRik article is May 10th, Mr. Genest will draft the article.
  • Mrs. Colby from Gibson Mt. Rd. stated that they do not want the road upgraded to a Class V road as had been petitioned at the last Town Meeting.
  • There being no further business, Mr. Webber motioned to adjourn, Mr. Genest 2nd.  Passed 2/0.  Meeting adjourned at 7:44 PM
